Golf Blueprint Review - The Best Golf Practice Plan?

Golf Blueprint Review

Do you want to practice more efficiently? Are you tired of feeling lost on the driving range or short game area?

If so, you’ll love this Golf Blueprint review.

My name is Michael Leonard - a +2 handicap, mental golf coach, and creator of Wicked Smart Golf. I quit my corporate career in 2017 to go all in on golf and even went to Q-school in 2019. Now I get at least 50–60 days of competition each year.

Why am I sharing this?

So you understand I’m obsessed with golf and will do whatever it takes to improve. Including finding the right practice plans.

Golf Blueprint Review

On my podcast - also called Wicked Smart Golf - I’ve interviewed tons of great minds in the mental game, short game experts, and more. In February 2024 I interviewed Dr. Nico Darras, the co-creator of Golf Blueprint, and loved what they’re doing (listen to part 1 of our interview below):

Golf Blueprint’s goal is simple - help you practice more efficiently so you can improve even if you only have a couple of hours per week). Because let’s face it, there is nothing worse than going to the range feeling lost.

But with their custom practice plans, you will never waste a moment at the range again. Here’s what makes these plans unlike anything else I’ve come across in the golf world.

Custom Practice Plans

Golf Blueprint designs custom practice plans for your game and offers plans for all types of players. From the everyday golfer all the way up to professional golfers on the PGA Tour and LIV Golf.

Here’s how it works, you send over information about your game so they can put together a custom plan to improve your weaknesses. Because, as you probably know, most golfers spend way too much time on strengths in practice instead of weaknesses.

For example, when I sent over my assessment, I mentioned that wedges and irons needed the most work. This allowed them to help provide a “blueprint prescription” that focuses on those two areas.

Once I got my plan, they provide different drills and activities for how to spend my practice time. Each practice session is about an hour and the one PDF has a month’s work of different drills/routines.

Each session is a “card” with a specific target area. For example, one of my practice routines was about all about wedges:

  • Skill set = wedges.
  • Type = random (not block).
  • Launch monitor = optional.
  • Location = driving range (other options include on-course practice, putting or chipping green).
  • Simulate pressure = no (this is a great feature of GB and why I recommend it for tournament golfers who want to simulate pressure in practice).

The card then provides the description of the drills, Doc’s advice, and how to track. It’s so easy to pull up your practice card and get to work - no thinking required!

How they Create Practice Plans

These are not some cookie cutter practice templates. Instead, they are generated via the GB algorithm. Here’s how they described it on their website,

“Golf Blueprint plans are built using the patent-pending Golf Blueprint Algorithm, that incorporates cutting-edge predictive analytics, learning theories, and performance psychology… Golf Blueprint helps maximize your time at the range and makes sure you leave each session on the best path to improvement!”

These plans target the most important areas to take the guesswork out of practice. These plans are delivered via PDF each month and updated every month to ensure you’re targeting the weaker parts of your game.

Here is an example of their practice plans:Different Types of Practice Plans

Golf Blueprint has three options to help all types of golfers improve - here is a quick overview.

  • Player's Membership: This is ideal for players who are committed to improving and have enough time each week to make it happen. Dr. Nico Darras and Dr. Kevin Moore will customize your program and provide practice sessions with different length sessions.
  • Classic Membership: This membership option is for golfers with limited practice time but still want to improve. These are shorter sessions, so you can still practice golf with a busy schedule.
  • Tour Membership: This membership option is for Tour players only on the PGA, DP World Tour, LPGA, Korn Ferry, and LIV Golf - invitation only.

Additionally, they customize plans if you’re hitting at the driving range or golf simulator. This is why it’s such a great tool to use in the offseason.

No App Required

Unlike a lot of practice plans, you don’t have to download an app. Instead, they send an email with your plan attached every 28 days to help dial in your game.

I really like this because when I use a practice plan on my phone with an app, I find myself doing other things as well during practice. But with a single PDF, it makes it easy to pull it up (or print it out) and have a more productive practice session.

Incredible Results

Personally, I’ve seen amazing results in my own game and feel so much more productive in my practice sessions. Golf Blueprint noted on their website that members are seeing massive success in lowering their handicaps.

“ We pride ourselves on providing Golf Blueprint Plans to members ranging from world number one to golf newcomers. Our Golf Blueprint algorithm draws on decades of analytics, learning theory, and performance research to ensure you receive a plan that targets important areas of improvement. Our Members are seeing an average improvement of 2+ strokes in their first 3-months.”

Imagine what your game would look like if you dropped a few shots in three months (or less)!

Questions About Golf Blueprint

Do you have more questions about Golf Blueprint? If so, check out the most commonly asked questions and answers below.

Who created Golf Blueprint?

Dr. Nico Darras and Dr. Kevin Moore are the creators of Golf Blueprint.

Do you need a launch monitor for Golf Blueprint?

It’s not required for all plans, but it will help you a lot in the long run as you can measure different parts of your swing. You can also share that information with them so they can help the algorithm build a more customized plan.

Is Golf Blueprint an app?

No, these custom plans are emailed out monthly… no need to download an app. As Dr. Nico mentioned in our full podcast, there are tons of golf apps out there and they wanted to keep these plans as simple as possible.

How often should I use Golf Blueprint?

They send plans that are meant to be done weekly. But if you have more time, you can also add in additional Golf Blueprint cards and/or your own favorite practice drills.

Does Golf Blueprint provide lessons?

No, this is not an online coaching program - it’s a customized practice plan. However, it’s a great tool to use with a golf coach and help get the most of your game.

Don’t forget, these plans are used by some of the best players in the world (who also have swing coaches).

Closing Thoughts

Take the guesswork out of practice and start practicing like a Tour player - even if you only have a few hours per week. Don’t forget, the second pillar of Wicked Smart Golf is learning to practice like a pro

When you spend your time practicing outdoors or indoors, these plans can help.
